A first-of-its-kind devotional for the disenchanted, disillusioned, and deconstructed
Countless Christians are deconstructing the fear-based faith they were handed, but many don’t want to give up on God—they want to love and be loved by Jesus without hateful or abusive theology. If you’re one of those believers, this feminist, anti-racist, LGBTQ-affirming devotional will take you on a journey of spiritual re-enchantment. Move beyond rigid religion and reconnect with the undeniable truth that predates and will outlive all the toxic theology in the world: God made you to love you.
Joyfully loving God and the people who were told God didn’t love them,
one bedazzlingly silly video at a time.
About
Lizzie has lived all over the world, with her boots now rooted in Austin, Texas. She’s living her dream as a mom of two and as the founding planter of Jubilee Episcopal Church, a colorful community rooted in an ancient way of worship with a playful hospitality for all!
With an ecumenical background of devout Irish Catholicism, earthy southern United Methodism, and a stint with some Mennonites in college, Lizzie brings an intersectional approach to Christian faith in her work as an Episcopal Priest. She’s oft found bedazzling old vestments and detoxing bad theology in silly videos online. She is a second generation clergywoman, and she especially delights in talking about motherhood, pregnancy, and reproductive justice from this lens of faith and leadership in the church.
A graduate from Mount Holyoke College (Summa cum laude), Lizzie brought a passion for intersectional feminism and queer theology to her studies at Duke Divinity School and Seminary of the Southwest. Her home is filled with love with her spouse, The Rev. Jonathan McManus-Dail, their beloved daughters, and two mischievous cats.

“Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work, or watch, or
weep this night, and give your angels charge over those who
sleep. Tend the sick, Lord Christ; give rest to the weary, bless
the dying, soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the
joyous; and all for your love's sake. Amen.”
